Bosch is a stile of the relay. Many manufacturers of this type of relay.
It is the type of relay all Ford trucks used from 1992-1997.
Here is a link for sockets:

Thank you, But I think I know what went wrong. The plug that I wired in had the right colors but they were in the wrong sockets. I should have checked it against the diagram but I assumed it was correct. I will be able to verify that tomorrow. Also about what ignition Im running? Just the old points and condenser. nothing electronic. would I be wise to change to the dura spark 2?

I checked this morning and sure enough the wires in the plug doesn't match the diagram. pin 1 is brown, pin 2 is red pin 3 is tan/gn and yellow is where it belongs at pin 4. No wonders it shorted out. I assumed that the plug they sold me was correct since all the colors matched.

I am not going to tell you what the word "assumed" means.

Every thing you have told me has been right on. Including the ASSuME but its just me U did just fine. Im sure when I transpose the wires to the correct colors every thing will work like it is supposed to. You know that I have been trying to fix this for about a month. Im sure if I was a mechanic instead of a carpenter for 47 years I would have figured it out a lot sooner.

Hey everyone. Tonight I wired the new plug into the harness and matched the truck wires to the pins rather than color matching the wires on the pigtail. Everything works like its supposed to. The fuel pumps energize when you turn on the key and quit after about a second. As soon as you engage the starter the pumps re energize and the truck started right up. Thank you for sticking with me on this issue and for not telling me how stupid I seemed to be. you would think if they are making a generic plug that they wouldn't use the same color wire as the original. Had I started with the Bosch type relay it would not have been a problem as the colors are totally different. Maybe this will help someone in the future. A special thanks to Subford for all the wiring diagrams and the hint on using the 3 port selector valve. Thanks again
