And with him needing to keep it for 3-4 weeks might be perfect for when my check gets here.
Jim
Looks pretty nice Jim. My grandma had a 94 explorer that went almost 400k when she got rid of it. We saw it around town for another 10 years until cash for clunkers came around. I think it got traded in on that...
I hope it is still available when the check gets here. The first thing I would do is buy an ignition switch for it. And take it to a body shop to fix the driver side door. However, it looks pretty good otherwise, and I don't think the 4 inch lift will make it too hard for me to get into. I would think my Bronco was higher than that. Still, it is really too early to tell. Will just have to see what is available when the check arrives.
Man, that would be perfect for you, Jim! Especially at Pismo!
So I assume around 2k is your budget? If so, I can keep my eyes peeled for Rangers/F150's/Explorers in my area.
How do you feel about Escapes?
Stewart
Yeah, I am leaning more toward an Explorer at the moment after seeing that purple one. It would be perfect for Pismo, and much easier to sleep in since I can lay the seat back down. Even in an extended cab Ranger the seat back would not go as far back as in the Explorer. Yes, I am trying to find one as close to 2k as possible, but will make an exception for the right vehicle. This one already has headers, and a lift on it, along with aftermarket tires. Other than the ignition switch and driver door repair, the only thing I would add would be a Detroit Tru-Trac and billet grille. And get one of those kinetic recovery ropes like you have. Not that I can help too many people out of the sand with the Explorer, but they could haul me out. LOL. If I do decide to get into the U-Ship business of hauling ATV's around, I can buy a small trailer from Harbor Freight, or Craigslist. However, I am noticing that there are not very many jobs like that on U-Ship. Mostly cars and trucks. So I may just look for some other way to bring in a little cash on the side.
Not interested in Escapes. I am looking at 89-92 Rangers, and/or 90-94 Explorers as they all have that squared off looking front clip. Even a 89-90 Bronco II would work if it was in good condition, but most of those are overpriced IMHO. I don't like the rounded look after that, but if I found a good deal on one, would not turn it down. F150's would be different, I can live with the 81-86 style as well as the 93-96 style like my old Bronco. I would prefer the 93-96 style only because they all have fuel injection, and overdrive transmissions.
Ended up having to replace the go pedal today, that was the code it was throwing. My reader was showing PO221 (TPS)throttle position sensor but my mechanic showed APP (pedal). Guess who has the better reader. Anyway man is this truck awake now. Responsive, kinda hard to hold yer beer,,jk.
Next up, have to re-wire my CB whip antenna
I like the 2nd direction of the flooring in the second pictures. Different than I've normally seen.
Thanks , Actually the third picture is where we started the room to the right then flows threw the reception area and around the center 4 rooms then back down another hall way which is the first picture, a total of 17 areas but Only 14 rooms equals 4000 sf the floor runs all the same direction . the Girls in the Office were real Happy compared to the ugly 1980s carpet that had duct tape on most of the seams and everytime they cleaned it it would shred little carpet fibers.
Evening Gents, and ladies. Hope everyone had a great day.
I am officially in the Veteran's Plaza, so no more wondering where I will spend the nights. Talked to my VA case manager and gave him the last piece of paperwork for the VA version of Section 8. Asked him how long it would take and he says he is hoping for a 4 week turn around. If the SSDI check arrives by then, I would only have to stay here a month. The earlier the better. Not that this is a bad place to be, it isn't, but I prefer my own home, and with all my belongings out of storage, and home with me. Including that Purple People eater Explorer. Will have to take that down to Pismo and see if I can beat the Bronco's flight record.
