5.0 Intake on top of 5.8?
Howdy All
I recently bought a '96 Bronco with the 5.0, 5 Sp. drive train. Tonight I'm doing the first service work to it. I pull the distributor cap and the old one has a firing order written on it. The firing order that it has written on it is the 5.8, but the intake that I'm standing in front of in my shop has 5.0 cast right into it and the VIN decodes as a 5.0 from the factory.
So, has anybody out there ever put a 5.0 top end on a 5.8 bottom end?
And if this is what I have, how would I be able to ID the 5.8 bottom end? If the heads were changed the valve covers and spark plugs are going to be 5.0, right? So unless the 5.0 intake will bolt right up to 5.8 heads I'm not real sure how I would tell the difference.
I would really like to only do the new plug wires one time so this pretty much stops the service work until I figure it out
Any help is greatly appreciated.
