Long Time a Comin'
Hey Zack! I really did/am having a great time with the guys up there, they are an absolute machine. My salesman is Jeremy Nickerson (have to ask for him in Ford Sales when you call) and he's been extremely responsive, and professional throughout, terrific. I would classify Woodhouse in the top 1% of dealers in the US based on sales, and they are the second in terms of F-150 movement in the US if I am not mistaken (theres another big dealer in Van Nyes CA that has them by a few units). One of the biggest benefits of working with a really big guy like this is trade value, they're motivated to move inventory, and especially new, so if a trade needs to happen to make you buy a new truck, they'll make it happen. To your point, they buy a bunch of everything loaded and have a monster accessories department to fill in the gaps. We finished negotiating the deal on Thursday night, and Friday morning the accessories Manager called me and confirmed my B&W Turnover, and i also needed the up fitter switches installed...as they weren't from the factory for whatever reason....and they had everything done same day, thats pretty darn cool. In addition to all of this, in the event you were to order, a big dealer is going to have plenty of allocations, which I believe equates to a better spot in line at the Kentucky Truck Plant. I did look around KC quite a bit, Olathe had a truck almost every other week, but sold them fast, and I really like the guys down at Louisburg Ford, but they didn't have anything at the time. I bought by F-150 from Thoroughbred on Barry Road, was a great experience then, I didn't look at them this time. Woodhouse had the best price from what I saw, on both the new rig, and my trade (fair market value...tough to ask for more, they'll actually keep it and sell it rather than sending to the auction) Woodhouse had what I wanted, and ultimately we worked in terms of trade differential, which I'm a big fan of anyway. BTW I see you're in Bucyrus, we actually live in Spring Hill now (I need to update that) I bet I'll see you around!
Thanks all!

Bronze Fire is so Fantastic........It is 2nd Best to Green Gem.......

Had a 3.5 hr ride home from Omaha today, what an incredible machine! SO MUCH POWER, the roads were getting greasy (wintery mix) never felt a thing, rock solid. Cant say enough, just so pleased.
I had a "Cleaning Exhaust Filter" message at 106 miles (she had 59.2 when i pulled off the lot)...no doubt due to the short test drives and idling before i got a hold of her. Smelled like a regen, saw the mileage dip, all the things I've read in all of your threads...all good.
Now a question, my mileage is pretty low, averaging 13-14 (hand calc), have you all seen this increase post break-in? I know I've read about it, but was wondering if anything new had developed? Also, this baby tank is a b*tch...Woodhouse said they'd toss a large one on for me, may need to do that at some point.
Thanks guys!

Yes, it gets better.
Also.....Check the front hubs. Make sure they are UNlocked......They should be in "AUTO" mode. Saves 2 mpg. The manual talks about it. I use 4x4 quite a bit here in Montana, But I leave the Hubs in Auto mode. You only really need the Manual Locked mode if the Auto mode was to fail.

I think the lockout hubs are one of the top reasons why Ford is better than the competition. I like knowing that if I need to get into 4x4, I will get into 4x4. I usually have a passenger so in essence, my hubs are still automatic.
I'm sure you read the break-in info but if you haven't make sure you vary that speed for the first 1000 miles. Don't lock it on cruise for long periods of time.
