Message center problems Please help :)

Good morning fellow Ford friends. I have an issue with my 2011 SD. When i press on the brake pedal I get a message saying I have a trailer connected and then when I step on the brake pedal again it says trailer disconnected. This happens every time I touch the brake pedal. I have replaced the trailer connector 7 way plug thinking that was the issue to no avail. Please HELP!!

I don't have any specific things to tell you other than I have heard of this happening to other '11+ owners. Every time it has has come back to a short or pinched wire under the truck going to the plug in or at the junction where you can add the in bed plug for a 5th wheel. Be very careful and check it with a good light. A good friend of mine swore the wiring was fine and we found a pinch right before the connector. Once we found it and replaced the wire, no more issue. It could be something shorting the 7 pin on your truck. Get under there and start hunting. It's easy for stuff to get under there and start tugging at wires. It's also easy for a mouse to start chewing under there. That was the case on one of the trucks. Good luck...

What about the brake pressure switch at the master cylinder? Maybe check that.

Might also be a fault with the TBC. You could disconnect it and take it out of the mix.
