oil leak
oil leak
I have a 74 F250 4X4 w/390 and it has a oil leak. I cleaned the rear of the motor and trans to find out where it was coming from. I wanted to rule out a leak from the rear of the intake manifold. I figured it was a leaking rear main. After test driving it I noticed it was coming from where the dipstick enters the side of the oil pan. I have'nt removed the pan yet, is there a replaceable gasket for that?
Thanks
Thanks
I had the same problem with my 360, the damn thing will make 90 PSI (when cold) and the only place it will leak is from the dipstick tube...all i did was unbolt the dipstick from the exhaust manifold and pull it out...cleaned the end of it and put some sealent on the end...put it back in and havnt had a problem with it since.
