Hey guys
I have noticed when running my airconditioner it has started to smell funny, kind of fishy smelling. I get home today and my bronco starts spitting green fluid (looks like antifreeze) what looks like out of the firewall. Aftere a closer look i noticed a tube about a inch or two long coming out of my firewall passenger side below the air conditioner evaporator, i think that is what it is. Did a hose pop off of this fitting or is just a sign of something else?
Thanks
Cam
I think chris_ce is right that's what it sounds like to me as well. my buddys 93 stang had the same problem that you describe and we had to rip the hole dash inorder to get at heater core wasn't pretty that smell came on when you turned your a/c on right. thats because you don't uses your a/c enough you should turn it on and leave it run for about 10min every month even in the winter
Thanks guys I was thinking heater core also. I just never new that there would be a drain. I guess thats so when it blows it will not pool up in your firewall. Thanks again guys I got some work ahead of me!
Don't sweat it. The Bronco has one of the easiest heater cores to change. You can do the whole job through the glovebox. The hardest part is getting the old hoses off. I suggest not even messing with them and just cutting them off.
