The rules have changed a bit and I haven't read the details yet on my new truck. I'm assuming that the ford esp purchased when the truck is new is the same 200,000 mile power train. The esp we had on my 2011 truck ended up covering almost $35,000 worth of repairs which means that we can buy extended warranties for all our vehicles for the next 20 years and break even at worst. The 2011 truck we had just happened to be in the bad valve production run and also the 2012 engine they put in it was part of a bad turbo run so they got hit with a new turbo shortly after the new engine went in.

Just a freak set of circumstances but I always get the warranty with these new diesels. Just too expensive and too complicated. All that power and towing pleasure has its price.

I'm coming up on 36,000 in a 2012 and need to decide whether to purchase an ESP quick.
If your not planning on deleting, and can afford I would buy it.
