What all aftermarket trash did you have to remove? Just curious what "goodies" it came with lol.
High intensity headlight system that was neither good quality or installed properly.
Alarm system
Command start
Major amount of unneeded stereo wiring.
LED light bar witch I kept and plan on reinstalling later.
That's all I can think of now bit I'm sure I'm missing some. It's taken me around 30 hrs to get the wiring repaired and everything working properly. I was so focused on the drive train when I purchased it I missed the wiring hatchet job. Oh well it's all fixed now.
Nice find. Bummer the PO put in cheap: alarm, remote start, hids. A cheap remote start/alarm is no good - especially command brand which generally requires you're standing at the DOOR of your truck to start it.
Looks great! My wife wants to do this to ours. It needs paint on the hood and some rust spots, so we would like to black it out. Thanks for the inspiration.

Haha right on. Every since I seen a black 05 Limited I've wanted one.

I have a similar rig, but I think mine needs tires a little larger, maybe like yours.
What tires & rims do you have, as well as the dimensions of both (I see they are 35" BFG AT's)?
Have you done any towing with your rig with those tires & rims?
If so, how does it perform?
I want to lift my truck a bit & add bigger tires, but I've had a lifted 4x4 that suffered from lack of power due to tires that were too big, & pockets that were too small to make it work right
I'm so happy with my rig the way it is now (it's a second rig for family hauling, grocery getting, & our primary boat hauler) that I hate to change anything...but bigger tires (at least wider tires) are calling out to me.
Honestly, I'd consider lowering the rear of your rig to match the front, if it were mine.
Here is a pic of our rig,
Again, Welcome, & Beautiful Rig you got there...TGOT
Thanks for the kind words. You also have a nice rig.
The rims are Dick Cepek 16x10" not sure what they are called. The tires are BFG All terrains 315-75-16. I haven't done any towing with it yet but plan on buying a camper this spring. Honestly I'm not a huge fan of the tires (mostly because I don't like the way they look or last) but I'm going to leave them on this summer. There is at least 50 -60% tread left. I plan on putting some Nitto mud Grapplers on because this is going to also be my hunting rig. As far as performance goes it seems to handle the 35s pretty easily. Although I haven't pulled with it yet.
