man, there should be a a larger vacuum port on the back of the carburetor for a pcv valve, i have a stock motorcraft 2150 and i run pcv on one valve cover and i have a vent breather on the other cover, it helps in the ventilation of the crankcase, thus the name Positive Crankase Ventilation, it serves a purpose, take it easy and drive hard

i see alot of engines without it, the only purpose is to vent the crankcase right? breathers do that, the only bad thing i guess would be emissions. but what does it hurt? i thought there was only one eldbrock intake for these trucks? i am pretty sure its a 400

Actually it helps prevent blowby. It helps your mileage. It keeps your oil clean longer. On a rebuild it helps the rings seat. its a good setup you should use it.

There is a place on the back of the carb for it. You can also use a manifold vacuum for it too.

The PCV valve MUST go to the fitting on the back of the carb in order to spread the load over all of the cylinders. All other vacuum hoses should go to the regular manifold vacuum ports.

Ditto on what Torque1st said, and yes you should hook it up; it helps. If you don't have a place for it on the carb, you can get one of those cheesy gasket/adaptor plates (from the boneyard) for the EGR line for the older trucks, and use that for the PCV instead. You can use the "open" breather cap instead of going back to the air cleaner.

Well I don't have power brakes, but the ones I have seen, the PB vacuum comes off the main vac tree behind the carb.
