TS 6 Position Chip

Just purchased mine for my 7.3l excursion, only concern i have is that the previous owner had a tuner on the vehicle and never put the factory setting back on before he traded it in. the tune on here is just a basic one for Millage. what should i do before installing my TS chip or will the TS chip just delete the one thats currently on it?

All the chips that plug into the PCM over ride the tune in the PCM. That's why the tuners put in a modified stock tune if you want it.

No, it will not delete the tune on the PCM. It will however....

If you want to re-flash your PCM to the stock calibration, you'll need a J2534-1 and -2 compliant device and software Or, the device which altered its programming.

If you know someone with the device, you can download and flash your PCM at: Motorcraft Technical Resource=

Its a 2001 excursion and as long as i can just plug the TS chip in and have no issues with it having a tuner on it now than ill be good to go.

came with a 4" turbo back magnaflow exhaust and a K&N Cold air intake only has 127,xxx miles on it and i love it lol

Very nice! Great mileage ........

Which tunes/programs did you decide to go with? The reason I ask is that you do not want to push it in some of the higher HP programs without having a EGT gauge (pyrometer) to monitor.

Haha thanks I have a buddy with a 7.3 f250 so I've been questioning him a lot with this stuff and he suggested the chip and said he loves it so tomorrow once it arrives I'll be installing it 👍👍

Thanks for posting this. I'm actually shopping for a chip now. I'm trying to decide between TS and DP. I like that TS comes preloaded, but I have not seen a tune specifically for towing. What pushed you to TS?

Welcome to the forums. You may want to look at Gearhead (gives you access to a huge library) and others as well.........as you mod your truck you will need updated tunes to support those mods. Some have free lifetime updates and some don't....you could wind up spending hundreds more in the long run.

Total Diesel Performance sells TS style chips with what ever tunes you want. To save money, you don't need to put 6 tunes on it. I only had 4 burned on mine.
