Back up camera

I have a 2008 f250 with a 7g1t-18k931-dd nav 6cd radio. Can I put a backup camera and hook it to my radio. If so how?

I guess it would depend if the radio has a video input. If so then all you do is get camera mounted where you want. Find a power source to plug into and mount it n

I believe the radio would need to have a video-in on the back.... maybe look up your truck and radio at crutchfield.com and see what they sell as add-ons for stock or call them and ask.. they might even have pdf files showing the wiring diagrams

I don't think your radio has video capabilities. You would need to verify that. how many plugs on the bottom back does it have? 2? or 3?

Yeah you need to find a video input. Like my setup had my CTS has a video input so I used that. I already have aux lights in the rear of my truck. So I taped the power from them.

I have not plug ends on back. I was thinking I could slice in to one of the wires in the back. But don't know which one..

The easiest way to verify is to look through the menu options on the radio/nav. system and see if there is a source selection for video. If yes, you are good if not, SOL. Good luck.

It looks to me like the "adapter" allows additional functions but still must have a video input in the radio/nav unit.

Video inputs are very specific... not something you can create by "tapping" into another system.
