Tips on removing DEF tank

Was working under the truck last night and realized I still had my DEF tank in. Any tips on removing this guy? I was poking around and am not quite sure how it is secured.

There are electrical connections that need to be unplugged near the top. There is also a bracket with like 8 bolts?? Should only take a couple of hours. I did it all by myself. Removed the filler hose and everything. You can also remove all of the def lines and everything.

Looks like a bunch of brake lines run through the "housing" that supports the DEF tank. Does all this remain?

There are only four bolts holding up the assembly (easy to distinguish since they are bolts with speed nuts (two on a common bracket near the top of the picture, one on left and ride side of picture where it's clean). You should not have a wrench on any nut), I try and show it in my pics in a previous post linked below. Its like a 30 minute job, including pulling the filler and hose up the frame rail. The bracket with the brake lines stays.

A thought.
Would there be any way to keep the tank in place and rig it to hold a few extra gallons of fuel. You have to get it clean of course, but an already available aux tank might prove helpful.

It's plastic and weighs darned near nothing.. Unless it's in your way for other mods, why borrow trouble and work to remove it?
Also
It's one less thing you have to put back on the truck if you ever want to trade it in to a dealer as most dealerships won't touch a truck that's had its emissions controls / systems altered...

I'd much rather reinstall this than the EGR cooler .

It wasn't so much the weight when referred to as dead weight for me. If it is sitting there not doing anything, it sat on the back of my mind as a peeve. It would still catch my eye and remind me if I looked near the rear.

I feel like I'm already committed once it's tuned, lets take it all the way. Private resale on deleted trucks locally is decent too.
