Bill, my 64 styleside SB CC originally had taillights that were all plastic. The trim around the red was part of the taillight and was plated chrome. They were not a stainless trim added to the lens. I have managed to get a rightside but am in search of a left side one. Do you know the part number and where one might be for the left?
Bill, here are pictures of the right tail light and the box it came in. The numbers on the light are SAE-TSIA-64A-TK and it has the fomoco registered trademark on it. The end of the box with the part number is gone. This tail light is identical to the tail lights this truck had on it when I got it in 1978. This truck was purchased new in 1963 by my wifes father and had never been wrecked. This truck came out of the St. Paul assembly plant. Are these rare? Are they a short run before ford went to the aluminum trim?
Bill the bezels and the lense are 1 piece. They have not been glued to the lense. The screw holes do not go thru the besels as they would if the aluminum was glued to the lense, The one in the picture is brand new. I wish I still had the originals so I could show pics of them also but I canned them as the chrome had peeled off from years of sun. The chroming is on the inside of the trim and shows thru the plastic. I will get more pictures inside and out. I hate to say this but I think I stumped ND.

I have seen the lenses you are referring to. They are not "modified" nor aftermarket. The last ones I saw were on a '64 F-250 Custom Cab that belongs to a friend, and they too needed replacing. We looked for a couple years and never came up with another pair. Not sure where the truck was built.
Based on what information we came up with, and talking with a Ford parts manager with over 30 years experience, we concluded the one piece lens/bezel in question were an early '64 part (further reinforced by the '63 purchase of your truck) that was changed to a two piece lens and bezel later in '64
A Ford "Quick Reference Catalog" 1965 Edition with a 1964 copyright date shows different part numbers for tail light lenses for both the "standard" and "deluxe" F-100 and F-250 trucks "W/O 4/W/D" "before ser. 510,001" and "after ser. 510,001".

I found that and have sent an inquiry to them about this lens. Hope they will email me a picture. Since ND's info shows 13450D and 13451D as replacing the same numbers A and B I am guessing B is the one I am looking for as it would have made sense for Ford to eliminate 2 different lenses and go to 1 lens and add the trim if it was a CC coming down the line.
