I have been calling around for a tranny for my baby. I thought 99-03 4r100 was all the same. I had a guy tell me since mine is a 00 that my tranny will have to be a 00 model. Something is different in them.
Is this correct or am I correct saying they are the same?
As far as I have read they are all the same. As long as it is 2WD into 2WD or 4WD into 4WD. They are controlled by the PCM so I don't know if there are any compatibility issues there or not but I don't think so.
Early 99 used an on/off method of torque converter lockup whereas late 99+ used PWM control. There is a difference in the solenoid block and the TCC pump valve.
