4.9 EGR Delete
I'm currently rebuilding a 4.9 to throw in my 1990 with a 4.9, the parts motor had the egr tube busted off the exhaust manifold as well as the egr itself so the bolts are stuck in the intake manifold and the egr is smashed. I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I have found no clear answers. Truck is a farm beater weekend warrior I'm not worried about fuel economy. It just seems easier to delete the egr rather than buy new parts to replace it all. Can someone shine some light on this for me?

Make a block off plate or jb weld a coin over the hole LOL. Cap all the vac lines and the hole in the manifold and rock out. You'll probably get a code showing the egr failed to open but it's a farm beater so who cares right?
