New guy here. I have an urgent question. Will a Ford "factory" topper off a 79 fit my 1967 F250? Just looking at sideviews, I am not sure it will. The back of the cab on the 67 is nearly straight up. Thanx. Mike
Dimensionally the beds are the same it's the back of the cab and topper angle that cause the fitment issues. I was reading a thread awhile ago on this topic but there wasn't any hard evidence if they fit or not. Some said they would be comparable others said they won't fit together. Nobody actually tried it to see if it would or not in that thread. Here's a picture of a topper so you can get an idea of it.
Thanx for the replies, I sure wish I could find a pic of the capper on a 67-71 cab. It's a 500 mile round trip to buy this capper. I had one on my 75 highboy and loved it in the winter(weight).
Toppers are nice. If it's a good deal I'd buy it either way. The factory ones are hard to come by and are wanted by many dent owners. I wish I could find a topper for my daily driver wanted one for awhile now. I don't want to pay someone 400 for one when I see them being given away for free time to time.
Frodo has a topper from a Chevy, at least that's what the guy I bought it from said it was from. I don't know the year, ut maybe it'll help you. The fit isn't perfect, but it's not too bad.
It's a retainer for what I assume was a curtain or tarp from a camper. My truck is a camper special. The top part swivels 90 degrees.
You can see it better here:
got it off Ebay a few weeks ago for about $10 shipped.
He had a few and I posted the link to them in a older post where someone was looking for one as well.
