I just installed a new gauge set om my 65 f100 with 352, with oil pressure, ammeter and water temperature gauges. I had a very old set of Stewart warner gauges there before. The previous owner wired the ammeter + terminal to the battery side of starter solenoid and the ground side to the main wire harness that looks like it came off the positive side as well. After wiring the new gauges per instructions with + side to 1st source and negative to ground, everything works except my headlights! For whatever reason my headlights do not work and the hi beam indicator light is always on regardless of whether dimmer switch is pushed. All turn signals, brake lights and parking lights work as well as gauge lights and dome light. However headlights do not. Any ideas?

Hello Mustangpt - Is this an after market wiring kit or the original Ford? Did the lights work before you put in the gauges? Have you checked all the grounds? Since the hi beam indicator is constant have you checked the wiring to the foot switch?
