steering column

Hey guys whats up! Been awhile since ive posted up on here. But im lookin for help. My 66 f100s steering has alot of play in it and i tore it apart and the steering shaft needs to be replaced. Where can i find one? Its 35 1/2 in long.

Define Play?

There are upper and lower bearings and taper retainers. Are you sure it is not these?

Steering wheel is loose. I find myself constantly turning the wheel to keep it straight. This is the steering shaft. Thst part is worn out. The rubber i have a new one. This metal peice is whats worn

Bring it by this weekend and i will repair it. Easy fix i have done many times.

Im not sure where i was suppose to go dave. And do i need to bring the truck? Or just the shaft and the coupler?

Just the shaft. It is a pretty straight forward fix. I am in North Glendale.

Sweet! Do you have the coupler too? Or just the machine to attach the two

The coupling can be had new. Get one for a later model F150 say a 75 or so.

It bolts to the flange and the splines go on the steering box input shaft. the large worn area is where the rag joint failed and the stop lugs wore it out.

Sunday would be a good day to do it.

I would have to get the part first. I ordered one and its just the rag joint and the spacer between the 2. This is so much more difficult... Haha

All you need is the rag joint.

List: Steering Coupling Assembly - 1974 Ford F-100 Pickup | O'Reilly Auto Parts

I will fabricate and weld in new metal to rebuild the steering shaft.
