steering shaft play help

steering shaft play help
I have 2 to 3 inches of play in my steering column and after trying to isolate it I believe it is the part I've uploaded the picture for. What part is that? And is there anywhere else common for play in the shaft because the actually steering is pretty tight the steering wheel just moves side to side a bit without actually turning the wheels. Thanks for your help.

I don't see a picture yet. But if you are going to take a picture of the lower part of the column right before the steering box, that is the double d section. The double d shaft slides into the double d female part of the column. This is were the column collapses in case of a accident.
Inside this double d piece is a little leaf spring looking thing that takes the play out, but will still let it slide up in case of a accident.
