Curious if anyone has knowledge as to whether LED replacements (not just an LED bulb in the factory reflector but a replacement headlight unit) are effective. I'm not looking to try to make my 2013 F250 PSD look "cool" like with Recon drop-in units; I want to see in the Alaskan dark without adding gymnasium-style lamps on a bumper rack. I see plenty of semi trucks running these here so there must be something to them. Thoughts?
They are pretty good. You can then use a replaceable bulb in them either halogen, led or hid. They are designed for halogens, I don't know what the light from a led or hid bulb would actually do but they would fit. One of the models IS DOT approved if that's a hang-up.
Yes, semi's with LED headlight units and they don't snow-cover. Spoke with several fuel-haulers who travel North past Fairbanks and they've never had issues.
