Sync Freezes

Sync Freezes

I have a '13 F150.

Sync is a pain. When playing music through my ipod touch, the radio will freeze, not switch playlists, not switch tracks, etc.

The Sync has the latest update. The ipod also has the latest update.

Why, oh, why is it causing me so much grief?

I have the first one listed. The sync with myford. It is not the touch screen versions.

I have an iPod Touch.

Both the first and second generations of the iPod touch have been tested and are compatible with your system: SYNC and Phone Compatibility | SYNC Support | SYNC & SYNC with MyFord | Ford.com

Try performing a soft reset to the iPod by holding the POWER and HOME buttons until the Apple appears. The iPod will power back up and you'll be able to test it again.

If that does not take care of it, try the master reset. This will set everything back to the original settings. Here are the steps: How to Perform a Master Reset | SYNC & SYNC with MyFord | Ford.com

Let me know if you notice an improvement.

I have done a soft reset and a restore to the iPod.

I have done numerous Master Resets to the sync.

After a few days, I have problems.

I should not have to reset anything.

take out the fuse, wait 30 seconds, put it back in and I've got ten bucks that says it will work fine again. Not elegant, but neither is sync.

Since you've already walked through the troubleshooting steps I am able to offer over this forum, I think it's best to have this checked out by your dealership. Hope your dealer can find the problem, my sync literally freezes and refuses to work when the temp drops below -12C, ford reps here assisted with finding a dealer and when I took it in they put the box in the freezer, sync didn't work. They couldn't find a solution after talking to the engineers at Ford sooooooo, I basically don't use the option when it's cold out. When it's warm it works like a charm. I am now out of warranty and will have to live with a voice system that takes a 6 month vacation every winter.
