I purchased a 15" Brake light bar from Go Recon's website. It came with a trailer pin connector but I want to hard wire it because I use that connector for a trailer I have. For the Running lights I decided to use the license plate light wires to splice into. I tapped the Brown wire from the Brake light bar to the colored wire and the white wire to the black wire on the license plate light. License plate lights continued to work and the Brake light bar turned on so I thought all was good but then found out that the truck is now acting like my left hand turn signal blinker is out and blinks at a fast pace. Now after installing the light the driver rear blinker is out. Keep in mind which I'm not sure if this plays a role but my license plate lights are LED bulbs which have been flickering a lot lately and I had planned to replace them soon. Did I wire this wrong or is there a better location to have this wired to? Any help would be great!
Make sure you tied into a violet/white striped wire for the running lights hot, and a black/white stripe wire for ground.
Thanks for the reply! I did make sure I did that. What ended up being the problem was a bit of bad luck. None of my tail light bulbs were out before installing this and as soon as I wired it all in I had the blinker issue. I started with step one and replaced the bulbs and found that the bulb went bad. I replaced the bulb and everything is in working order. A bit of bad timing I guess. Thanks again to those that viewed the thread!
