A headers question....
Hey guys,
I know this might sound pretty stupid and something I should already know, but if I buy headers, will that make my exhaust louder? What will it do with the sound of my exhaust? I already have a dual exhaust system on it now, and it sounds pretty good. I was about to buy some headers for my 92 F-150 Flareside and was just wondering if the sound would change at all.

A headers question....
Oh yeah it will get louder which is good! Not eardrum splitting but enough to be like "wow nice difference"
Also if you ditch the two stock cats infavor of one stock one, youd' get louder there also.

Ok, thanks for the help. I have one more question... does it really matter what kind of headers I should buy?? Like brand wise or style wise??

A headers question....
Most go with shorty headers as they are easier to install, but the power gains are far less than with a set of full length headers.
I have Hooker long tubes and they work great. You can run BBK or MAC 5.0 shorties but will need a different Y-pipe fab'd up to do that...e-mail me for more details on that.

A headers question....
There are some headers for about $160 at JCWhitney.com. They are made specially for 5.0 engines in Ford Trucks. That sounded like a pretty good deal, but I don't know if the quality is very good. Well, thanks for all of your support and advice.

A headers question....
The ford motorsports headers are great...stainless steel and under 300 bucks. No exhaust mods needed.

A headers question....
Gotta be pretty careful with really cheap headers. If the quality's not at least decent, they can be a real pain! I'v also heard that the Ford mtspts. headers are a good deal. Good luck
