I don't know these newer double DIN radios, but isn't there a VERY simple solution via the head units Power button? Assuming it has one....why not just turn the radio off before each time you shut the truck off. Then when starting the truck....don't turn it on until she is running? Or do these radios go into auto power/boot mode as soon as they see 12v?

If the later is the case, I think a simple on-off switch would be cheapest and quickest fix.

Because I would forget. Simple as that. I knew the technology exists, just didn't know where.

I bought a time delay today for my Double Din set up, glow plug cycle time and starter amperage pull down so as to not re boot this thing every time. I liked the idea and have bench tested to my needs for the delay time, That given would you be so kind to maybe tell me the switched wire i need to interrupt , I get i could do it at the plug by head unit .....but i can not remove double din again without a lot more work so i would like to pick it up near fuse panel or coming off the back of it. Also how many amps would a double pull not using units power for speaker power(amps for that and works as should)???, just using normal touch screen functions? Thanks Allen

10A time-programmable https://www.grainger.com/product/AIR...sulated-21EW80

or

Use this with a normal "Bosch"-style relay https://www.grainger.com/product/AIR...sulated-21EW88

You don't have to worry about how much current the radio uses. Modern head units use a larger-gauge (often yellow) wire for the constant power input as well as the main power input when turned on. The red wire (usually smaller) is the ignition sense wire and will rarely draw more than 1.5-2A at the most. The red wire will likely be the one you want to "interrupt" but make sure of this before doing any cutting and splicing since radio manufacturers can vary.

Car stereos used to be powered by the red wire and used orange as an ignition sense but that strategy kind of faded out like Crutchfield magazines in the 90's.

I got that part and thanks but my problem lies in route from instrument cluster delay fuse and finding that one wire, I can not get behind head unit without great difficulty

Although both my PSD's do what is described the head unit just reboots, kinda annoying. Most head units are powered by the run position only (or accessory position) in the key switch assembly then looses power in the start position. There are fused circuits that have power in the run and start position which should resolve the problem. Does it work, don't know, never thought about it much until this thread.

Rich, I think you option might not work as when the user turns the switch to start the head unit still loose power while cranking, unless I'm not understanding completely what the OP is referencing.
