Could someone tell me how to test the pickup coil on a 91 or send me a link? Im having a random no start/die issue and have already replaced the ignition module twice. Thank you. Also, if it is bad ill replace the distributor entirely, any recommendations on a quality replacement that isn't too pricey?
It would be very difficult to test the pickup coil beings you have a random no start/die issue. If you would even think of testing it, you would have to catch it when the engine is in a won't start condition.
Personally I would try replacing the ignition coil first and if that don't fix your condition I would be inclined to buy a NEW after market distributor from O'reilly Auto Parts. Stay away from the rebuilt distributors, as you are likely to get a distributor just like you had.
