I have been using the HSS Stiction Eliminator and am running the Diesel Extreme (full bottle) in this tank. I have noticed increased MPG (according to the lie-o-meter) and very little smoke out the tailpipe. Believe it or not when cruising at 60-65 the meter says 23-24 MPG, combined driving is 19-20 MPG. On cold mornings the Ex is quick to start and runs smooth. I don't run mine as much as Toreador_Diesel but I make it a point to only drive the 6.0 when it can get fully warm and on the highway.
In a couple weeks we are pulling the travel trailer to Charleston. I am interested in seeing how all the temps do under load.
I also was having stiction issues as explained by Toreador, and have been running the Hot Shot's Seceret for about 3k miles. It has made a big difference in the cold starts, with no more "romping". I would also suggest giving it a try.
I had stiction. It would have a skip until the oil hit 100 degrees. RevX took care of it and then when I switched to 10W-30 it wouldn't clean up until 125 degrees. The stiction had been getting worse even with the RevX. I pulled the injectors, polished the spools and never had a problem again. The 10W-30 didn't have any additive in it.
IMO, take the time, polish the spools and don't worry about using any additives.
