Guys this is just what I wanted. Toreador_Diesel thanks for the straight talk also. That's what I was thinking on the FICM tune because of the weight I do tow. Having to much EGT's with that weight will just make things worst. I'll have to order some products now for the oil and fuel and give it a try. It mitt be a while before I know but will report back with I find also. This ended up being a great thread to read.

Archoil 6400-D?

Interesting that I don't see much mention of this PEA (think Techron) fuel system cleaner...? Has anyone tried it? Do folks even know it exists?

I'm just asking -- I bought some for my Bobcat to try and fix a different issue, so I can't say what it would help stiction-wise in our 6.0s, but it is a super-cleaner (concept) additive also.

Somebody has had to have tried it by now... (sorry, I've taken probably 6 months off the forum )

Wasn't available in the US 'til middle of last year (it had been out in Europe for awhile). I bought mine from an Archoil dealer and 6.0 owner that I contacted off another forum. Mine came from the 1st batch he received in July last year...

Here's his order page, it's near the bottom:

Home

BTW: I have no affiliation with Archoil or any other reason to bring this up other than curiosity

I noticed a difference after the first time I drove it. After about 2500 miles it was back to normal. As I understand it you do not have to add it every oil change, just when you need it.

Maybe that's my problem. I'm mostly at 65 with occasional periods of 70. I have 3000 on it so I I suppose another 2000 will do the trick?

It would normally take the truck about 8-10 minutes to finally start in that temp. That morning, and ever since, the motor only turns about 2-3 seconds and fires right up. I will use it every other oil hange from now on.
I wonder if the 5w40 Rotella or the Archoil made the difference? Mine starts easily at any temperature I have tried to start it, but it sure does start up smoother in temps at 25 and above.

Run the full 7,500 mile interval with mostly freeway time and that should do the trick. Engine seems to run hotter at 2000-2200 RPMs. Atleast on my truck it does...

I tested the link and it still works for me, but no matter -- it is not just the 6400 but 6400 with a dash "d" = AR6400-D

Mine does too around 205 206 mostly on the EOT at 65 and around 1750 rpm. Surely that's hot enough for that stuff to work. Good thing is I can wait an extra 2500 miles before the oil change

Well after reading this post and my cold morning rough starts has come back. I'll give the hot shots extreme a shot... I've used the Archoil 9100 before and have been satisfied with it. I'll post my results after a tank of fuel. Thx for the info.

I'm running 6400 now. Have about 800 miles on it. I still have stiction, but I don't feel enough time has passed.

However, I was not aware of the "-D" difference. Now I'm curious as to what I'm running.
