Run 91 octane, it's cheaper. Did the math on my Parents' 2013 Escape AWD 2.0L and it gets significantly better mileage on 91 octane - to the point that it's cheaper to run 91.
Only issue they have had is the trim panel popped off the hatch one day when shutting it. Do you have My Ford Touch in it? It's not a bad system - some people are just easily defeated and don't have the capacity to operate a touch screen radio.
My parents love theirs and that 2.0L is pretty quick.
Little late to chime in here, but we have a 14 with 13K on it already. Only problem has been an aggressively weeping seal on halfshaft coming out of tranny (transfer case??). Noticed it at first oil change. Fixed by dealer and second oil change seems fine.
She gets 25.6 (computer, not hand calc'd) lifetime average so far up until this winter, dropping to 25.1 in this coldest winter since the 30's type weather doing. Driving is little highway, moderate rural back road type driving with many traffic lights. Style is keeping up with traffic without trying to get good mileage at all. It is NEVER floored though. This is all on reg ethonal gas, never tried anything higher than 87.
