I have 1997 E150 conversion van. Having a problem problem programing keyless fob. Van came with keyless 3 button fob that worked. After a while it quit and figured it was battery. When it was opened to replace battery, it had leaked water and looks to be shot. Got replacement fob. Same numbers.
GQ43VT4T. I have searched for info to reprogram replacement fob.

I found info on the programing connector at the base of steering column. The description of connector and location seems to be pretty clear. Color of connector and color of wire with stripe etc. The describe it will be included, possibly taped, in the large bundle of wires under dash under / over steering column. I have removed the lower cover under column. Bid steel cross bracket is exposed with more visibility. I have looked several times. I really don't see any big bundle of wires or connector [with nothing plugged into it. I even found a picture someone posted if the connector and it was still fastened, taped[ in the bundle of wires. ].

I can't seem to locate such connector. Don't even see bundle of wires as shown in picture.

Any thoughts? Anyone personally located / seen this connector? Anyone reprogrammed their fob on 97 E150?

This is a conversion van. I don't detect anyone has been into the wiring harness. Could be wrong.

I have read about the key on and off method. Tried that several times. I seem to find that it is the connector method under the dash is for this year and model.
