if you had it your way?

Alright so I wanted to create kind of a dream 300 thread. If you could build a 300 in any way, how and what would you use?

Maybe this has been discussed before but I thought it could be a fun topic.

Personally I would love to build a supercharged 300 just to do it. And also have gobbs of torque when out playing in the mud and snow

If I had it my way I would bore it .030 over, use custom forged pistons with a compression ratio of 8:1, cast a custom cross flow head, get a forged crank, fab up a custom exhaust manifold and bolt a custom mapped turbo just for the 300 and run it at about 15 psi, intercooler, custom intake manifold for Holley Terminator EFI, water/meth injection, 4 inch single straight pipe exhaust that comes out the passenger side fender like you see on street outlaws, custom ground roller turbo cam, roller valve train, fancy Ford Racing valve and lifter covers, and buckle this all to a world class T-5 with 4.10 gears with a Trak-Lok and 10.5 inch wide slicks.
That is how I would do it!

Everything 80ford100 just said but looking back, I would have preferred to have a C6 or some automatic to maintain boost.

I'm all for the supercharger idea. I'd love one. I've never been too keen on the idea of what would happen to a red hot turbo during a river crossing. Plus, I think that would build a lot more torque down low. I'd love to be able to get 350+ torque out of the 300 down below 2000 RPMs.
Then, a smooth and strong enough valve train to rev it up to 6000 when you're on the open road.

I can't find the YouTube video right now but will look for it. Its the only one I have seen with a supercharged 300 in an 80's f150, its pretty cool

Stock rebuild with hypereutectic pistons [96 metric?]; decking of block and head just for straightness; cleaning up of valve pockets; polishing combustion chamber and piston tops; Mile-A-More camshaft kit; three angle valve job with back cut; prototype 2-barrel Ford log intake [they did exist, but were destroyed] with Motorcraft 2100 or 2150 carburetor with 1.08 venturies; HD log exhaust; stock air intake with preheat and cold air.

This is my ´81 Bronco 300 turbo crossing a river. Quite deep, the Bronco has 38" tires. No harm to the turbo.

I love that picture more than any picture I've seen in a long time.

Interesting to know, I've always wondered how they'd fare!

iron crossflow head
14.2 CR
6.8 rods
'svo' block
lightened forged crank
my own intake; NA on methanol
rollerized valve train w/ bronze bushed lifter bores and inboard bearing supports
stainless tri-Y headers

Just your typical 600 HP bracket race injun

I love that guy.

I'd say I'd have to build it modern.

I'm talking crossflow head, dohc with adjustable timing gears, good compression, nice rv style cam, forged internals, bulletproof block/head mating surface and a tuned set of twins. Pretty much I want an ecoboost straight six.

I would be happy with 1/4 that HP output!

cylinder head redesign

Make it a crossflow hemihead. Alternate the flow direction of the cylinders so that cylinders 1 3 and 5 exhaust to one side of the engine, and 2 4 and 6 to the opposite side. Dual exhaust would be a breeze. The intake redesign would be another story.

One possible solution could be 2 intakes and 2 carbs. Another could be multiport fuel injection. The latter is likely the easiest.

From everything i have read the hemispherical design for the combustion of fuel is superior.
