O.K., now that I know that FMP is what to look for on my SCGII, what should the proper voltage be? Mine is running a steady 48, but occasionally drops to 47.5 for a short period. Should I be concerned? Thanks in advance.
I installed the SG2 yesterday morning. My FICM voltage reading is 54.5 vdc (repaired the FICM a few years ago and the 54 vdc system was an upgrade option), 11.5 batt volts, 11.5 FLP and FVP volts with KOEO. This morning with KOEO FICM voltage was 53, 11.5 batt volts, 11.5 FLP and FVP volts......once I started the engine the FICM voltage dropped to 33 vdc, batt, flp and fvp volts went to 13 vdc. The voltage increase back to 54.5 after warm up. Outside temp was 39. This evening with a temp of 41 the FICM voltage drop from 54.5 KOEO to 30 v after starting then back to 54.5 after warm up. No differences in the batt, flp or fvp volts. The truck seems to be running ok, no loss of power or jerking. I also notice that the voltage would drop into the high 40s when I accelerate rapidly. I replaced the FICM power relay yesterday morning which seems to have helped with a cold start issue I'm having without plugging the truck up (still testing this theory). Could this be an alternator issue?
Wish I knew more about it, but the 54v mod throws a monkey wrench in my understanding. It does sound like its losing enough voltage to indicate it's having issues and need repair, but then again, if it stays above 45v what's the impact on how the truck runs...maybe none.
Interesting question, maybe Ed could give us some insight.
The 54v was included in a 40 hp upgrade and was told it would help with injector stiction without damaging the injectors. Been running on this FICM about 4 years now. All computer resources did the repair and was referred by a reputable diesel repair shop.

My FICM voltage with KOEO would go to some value lower than 48, then bleed off to 0. Replaced the FICM power relay and now with KOEO I have instant and sustained
48 vdc during start.
