Steering column confusion
Here's what I currently have, and what I'm looking for:
Currently have a 64 F100 with a 3-speed manual column shift with the stock steering wheel
I'm looking for a column that will mate up with a CV rack, with automatic column shift, and retain the stock 64 steering wheel.
If anyone knows of a combination that will work for me, please let me know.
Thank you
Otherwise about anything else is going to require some amount of fabrication to mate the wheel to the column and have the horn work.
Your best bet might be a floor shift.
Don't have any experience on mating it to a CV rack. It will probably require some machine work on the end of the steering column shaft unless you can get a coupling with the right splines. Look at Borgeson for selection of u joints to mate to the rack.
I used a 72 column in my 65 and it worked fine. Hooked it to a Ford PS box via a new rag joint. I Used the 65 column bracket on the 72 column to mount it to the bottom of the dash
Might work for you
