That's a great idea on how to shift it w/ the fuse out. I will certainly keep that in mind if you think it will work.
Also, any other thoughts I would appreciate.
Not only have I personally tried it but that's also how Ford designed it to work! If you look in the owner's manual it tells you do to just that if you're ever stuck in park.

Yep, all you have to do is unplug the interlock solenoid under the column. Unless you're like me and don't like useless parts hanging out on your truck. I actually pulled my column out and tore it down so I could remove ALL the interlocks from it. No shift lever lock, no steering wheel lock, nothing to bind up and ruin my day at all. I always use my parking brake anyway.

Memory in this case probably means an EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory) failure. That is, the RABS controller's internal memory chip has either failed or is no longer functioning due to another internal problem. The "normal" way that someone would fix this is to replace the RABS controller but if you're good with electronics you can crack it open to have a look and replace the failed part, repair the broken solder joint, whatever it wrong with it.
Well the next day I was all set with a box of fuses in case they blew and I started the truck and the ABS light wasn't on and therefore wasn't flashing and haven't had a issue with it since. Only thing I can figure was snow got into the rear brakes and the next day it was ok and after loosing its memory it regained it.

the fuse blowing would cause it to loose memory because it no no longer had any power going to the memory unit
