This is thanks to thoses that helped me with my towing problem I had with the 4.6 liter. I just got back from my second trip and things worked great on my new EXP! 700 miles an no problems towing on any hills in central Texas. Thanks to everyone for replying to my previous post on 7/8. The secret to my success was a trade-in!! The dealer did me justice and with an excellent trade-in and great price on a vehicle almost the same as my 4.6 ltr. My new vehicle that has almost identical options, and a 5.4 ltr engine, and I didn't loose my shirt! They really worked with me on the problem and I couldn't be happier. They knew I wasn't satisfied and I reminded them that when I came in to look at the new ones, that I want a vehicle to tow a camping trailer. Be sides my views to the on the 4.6 power disappointment, an article in the Sunday paper was published last week about a woman that had a suburban that had option problems, 7500 miles, and was 6 months old. She was still able to get another vehicle without going in the hole. My wife showed this article to the sales manager and he worked wonders on the trade and mysteriously the paper ad disappeared from the lounge table while she was getting a drink. As my wife said, you get more with honey than vinegar. I was looking into some of the options that posters input, like the microchips, but the dealer said if I blew an engine and it was found that I modified the engine that I would loose out on warranty coverage. Apparently some upgrades may give you power from one place but take from other places. This is what the service manager told me. He was really knowledgable and even test drove my 4.6 ltr with my camping trailor. He understood my delima and even helped me get a good trade in. Thanks to all for the great feedback. You really helped me look over my options for an upgrade on more power. My advice, if your towing a trailor and its only a short distance, flat land, and weighs less than 3K, the 4.6 ltr is fine. My trailer weighed 4.3K and I wanted it for long hauls and a 4.6 wasn't cutting the mustard. I am going camping this week again!
