I took my truck in to ford the other day because vit was pulling to the left and my left front tire is rubbing on the inner fender, so a few hours later they called me and told me that they couldn't fix it because the body of my truck is sagging 3/4'' on the left front and 1/4'' on the left rear. So now I have to make a appointment with the body shop to have it fixed, thankfully my truck is still under warrenty. But I don't understand why its sagging my truck only has 11,500 mile on it, has anyone else ever heard of this happening to a new truck? Does anyone know what could cause this?
Body Sagging?? No, I have not heard of this problem before, something must be missing (parts) to have this happen!
Please keep us informed as to what the dealer says caused the sagging and what the fix was!
My dad bought a new '96 F150, and a few days after he got it, noticed the bed sagged on 1 corner. It went in the shop atleast 5 times. They tried shimming the bed, new mounts, ect. Never could fix the problem. Everytime we got it back, it was out of whack somewhere else. Even tried different shops. Finally the lease was up and he turned it back in. That was his first lease, and due to the experience (penalties, ect.) it was his last also. Hope yours is an easy fix, and you have better luck than we did.
yes i'm sure the frame sits perfectly level but the body does not. you can see a difference when u look at the front of the truck between the bumper (attached to the frame) and the lights (attached to the body).
well its in the shop now and they couldnt give me a frickin loaner car! so now im stuck ridin with my roommate to school wich is ok but when hes at work im stuck here.
well the last few days have been fun, i took the truck to ford and they kept it for a couple days, and wouldnt give me a loaner car because the liability on my insurance is too high because of my mom's business! so i got a ride home and sat there with no vehicle. meanwhile ford's body shop sends it to a spring sohp (why?). they didnt even do anything to it! they put a pair of new u-bolts on the front drivers corner, thats it! no shims, springs, nothing. i get it back and it still sags! nothing was fixed. so its goin back tomorrow. and if they wont give me a loaner car i'm gonna walk next door to chevy and do the 24hr test drive.
well who would like to hear the latest news? got it out of the shop today to find that the FRAME is BENT! theyre saying it was in a wreck before i got it. they say it was hit on the left side. i got this truck brand new, ordered it. it showed up with 13mi on the odometer. i kno i havent wrecked it at all. so wat the heck has happened here? i dunno wat im gonna do right now, im takin it to the collision center tomorrow. ill keep you all posted.
