Advise
My Son is 17 and wants a 96-97 F350 PS or Gas, I've owned numerous of these but they were new when I had them. What kind of problems are inherant to these and what should I look for?. I'm trying to guide him into a F250 dent side for ease of finding parts and such. Thanks for any help you could provide.

150s and 250s (all TTB) usually have some loose bushings and steering components.
350s (solid axle) can have loose steering components.
Rust depending where you are.
EGR and AIR tubes rotted.
Plastic vacuum hoses broken.

In the rust belt states watch the rear leaf spring mounts and shackles. They will rust out and break so the rear of the leaf spring is resting on the bottom of the bed. Just replaced them on my 96 F250.

Parts are very abundant for the obs ford, in fact I'd bet you'd have a harder time finding parts for a dent side, unless you already have one.
Check for excessive blowby, trans shift and slip, and turbo shaft play for the diesel.
