So the trucks oil temp was 10 degrees this morning, out side temp was 5 per the inside temp gauge. is it normal for a really slow crank at that cold not plugged in. Batteries are usually sitting around 11.9 after 24 hours of sitting and quickly charge up to 13.9 14 once driving

What weight of oil are you running? And how old are the batteries?

I also live in MD. A slower then normal crank is OK but a really slow crank usually means batteries are low or failing or don't have the proper CCA capacity. This could bring death to the FICM. I use Royal Purple 20W-50 synthetic oil and AR9100 friction modifier year around. But with it being synthetic and the AR9100 additive, it cranked a little slower this morning but fired right up. I also have less than a year old 800 CCA batteries and a 250 amp alternator.
It was 9 degrees at my house this morning, and my truck does give me a little trouble when it's that cold. I plugged mine in for the first time this year. I use rotella 15w-40 and have newer interstate batteries. I leave my house at 4:30 am so I dont want any problems, thats why I plugged it in, along with power service fuel additive.
Yeah I might go get the batteries tested since they have a 4 year replacement. I also am at the end of an oil change cycle with archoil in it. My Usual koeo batt amps are 11.6 to 11.9.

I also have the Diehard platinum's let us know how it goes getting them replaced, that is if they give you a hard time replacing both.
Well here's the question I'm sure they will want to test them. Or has anyone got batts replaced off of just walking in with the warranty and saying my truck almost didn't start thismorning I need new batts

My guess is they will probably check the individual battery voltage first with key off. If that is OK, then they will probably check your charging system. If that is OK, then they will probably do a key off "drain" test, hopefully, on each battery separately. If any one of those fail, you will probably get new batteries. The only ? is what killed them? My guess is charging system and that means alternator.
Yeah I was looking at that but from what I read 11.6 to 11.9 isn't bad koeo and they get charged to 13.9 14 after start up. So that's why I was thinking charging was fine.

Costco will do that - Mine were dead after a apx 2yrs. brought them in said they were dead, they just gave me a chit to go back to Tire center and they gave me new ones paid only $2 - difference in price increase. They were Costco brand battts, they replaced with Interstates both sets 850 cca
It was 18 degrees here this morning. Tried starting it at 3:30 this morning....the 1st attempt it tried firing up then quit, same thing on the 2nd attempt. However I did have it plugged in but forgot to plug into the wall outlet Let it warm up a bit before trying again. Went to try it and the batteries where dead! Put on charge for a bit and fired right up on final attempt. Had no more starting issues today. Batteries are less than a year old but having them check on the next day off!!!!!! No gauges for monitoring at this time.
11.6_11.9 with the glow plugs active I'd not bad. You could wait for them to cycle of before hitting the key. Curious that after two the attempts the batteries were dead. My boss claims the same thing tho. He says if his truck does not fire the first time he knows says they drain quick. His are two year old interstates.

Yeah I cycle my glow plugs twice always before a start. Batts weren't dead but crazy slow. I mean I guess I should expect things to be slow after a 24 hour sit in 10 degree weather. B
