We have a 2008 Ford F250 Super Duty XLT diesel 4x4. You folks have been really helpful in the past. This truck has had a few issues and you came through when trying to figure out what to do about the blown radiator (bought new Mishimoto all aluminum one and had our mechanic install it). Problem solved hopefully. If we would have bought a brand new 2012 or 2013 at the time we would be money ahead (new tires, both sets of brakes redone, fluid changes, radiator, etc.).
Now, we find out that the front passenger tire rim has a crack which is causing the tire to go flat. Because we are second owners, warranty doesn't apply. And, the company (Ultra Motorsports) no longer has it in stock as it is discontinued???!!!). A search on line for the model number got the same results from several merchants. No longer in stock. Nothing on eBay or Amazon.
So, what do you do? We looked at several places in town but none had anything close to ours. Do you just try to get as close as you can? The crack is small and we never had issues before and we go off road a lot (ever go to Silver City, Idaho or Delamar, Nevada?). Rocky, narrow and rough. We definitely do not want to get stranded out in the boonies. Should we try to get it repaired? Ideas? The model number is T-261/262 20x9.0J Titan gloss black with machined face. I think it is a cool looking rim but I guess the public clamors for new all the time and styles change (this one was discontinued 4 years ago.). It is probably a safer bet to find something similar locally in case we get a bad one.
I would shy away from repairing it. If you're taking it off road and banging it up pretty good it may be considerably weaker than before. If you haven't already, I would search your local craigslist. Something may turn up there! You can search an area as far as you're willing to drive to pick it up. If Amazon and eBay don't have it, that might be your best bet. Good luck!
