Good thing about that distributor is; no points to deal with, so shouldn't be much need to get at it?
I am having same problem with one for my '54. (which has a darkside 327 in it) I have an old dizzy and want to go electronic. Have to get the firewall recessed a touch.

Yeah, I should have done that, but I bought a beautiful shiny red one off eBay for $45 brand new! Heheh. It is a gorgeous thing. Maybe I'll hang in on the wall and use it for garage art and get one of these. Sure would make life a lot easier than recessing the firewall, though the old firewall is coming out pretty soon (a conversion project)
I stuck one of these in an old 52 Buick I had. Seemed to work pretty well as I recall. Thanks! I will bookmark the page.

Looks good Ernie...the only thing I would change is the fan mounting. Take that seup over to Dave at Direct Sheetmetal, he can make you a custom fan shroud that would look so nice that maybe no one will notice the distributor location.
Thanks Chuck,
I wrote down the name and company. I intend to get shroud but was at a loss as to what would work, Fabbed makes the most sense and my workmanship standards exceed my sheet metal skills. I figgr'd the fan covered a decent percentage of the fins and with a big-a$$ fan facing the grille during cam break-in, I'd be OK.
