a few new pics...

I just updated my gallery. It's been quite awhile since I've been in here. Seemingly every bit of spare time has been in my garage. I put a new chassis under my truck, and altered it's appearance a bit.

shiny

Beautiful truck!

Could you give me a summary of the steps you took to get the grill/light buckets looking so good?

Thanks!

Hey! You better quit watering that grass so much your truck is sinking. Joking aside it looks real good. Does the flat black make the truck unbearably hot. I like the look but think grey would be cooler. I like yourself will have primer while funds accrue for color.

Great job. I'll bet it sets you back into the seat a bit when you put your foot in it.

The wheel pattern on the truck is 5x4.5. The rear axle housing is out of a passenger car. The steering column is Flaming river.
The grill and headlight buckets just look good in the picture, they're not that polished. ) The previous owner put the grill in it, and told me that he bought it from a catalog, and ordered the '65 grill, but they accidentally sent him a '66, which he liked better. I've always liked the '66 grill best, so I don't worry about it. If anyone gets too upset, I just tell them the truck is real "late" '65.
Finally, yes, it's pretty toasty with the flat black paint. I yanked the heater core out this last winter. I wanted to lose every last pound, and I never used the noisy thing that often anyways.

You know how depressed I'm getting here, reading about all these grills?
When I was replacing parts on my 65 after the wreck I couldn't find one anywhere and was getting ready to put on a 66. My wife found one on Ebay that after a bidding war with some other guy I paid $235.00 for an Aluminum grill that needed about 40 hrs of polishing. I wish I had found this site before I bought one.

Maybe you guys should put them on EBay.

Very nice Pro-Street ride! Primer is my favorite color, I like gray, but i've
always wanted to black prime one of my projects in the past. Man that
steering wheel is ( WILD )! Very good job on this truck!

P.S please keep us posted on your progress! Every one loves a slick rolling on

big fat tires!
