Dry weight, Loaded 10.5 sterling axle complete?
Hi all,
I've been having a lot of vibration issues and narrowed it down to the rear axle. I didn't have to replace the whole unit but I want a posi unit for plowing and I decided just to go long and replace my open unit.
(the only thing I found on my old one is a severely worn yoke. I know, I know, why didn't you just renew the yolk???? Because I didn't want to).
Anyway, I ordered a complete loaded assembly from Tennessee and it is to be delivered today. The shipper stated it was 220 lbs on the pallet.
I'm paying for shipping. The freight carrier called yesterday and said the actual weight was 465 lbs. This bumped my freight bill to double making this total transaction 870 bucks. (Still not bad for a 60k axle complete).
Does the weight sound correct?? I have no scale nearby so I was just wondering??
I have a new Holland rig with forks to unload and move it around without blowing my o-ring.
I am just curious.
(anyone need a good 3.73 open rear complete that only needs a yolk 204k miles)
