Rotating Tires

I want to rotate tires on my 2015 F350 6.2 CCLB. The manual says to put rear tires up front staying on the same side and crossover front tires when putting them in rear. I went to my dealer and the service dept. says "keep tires on the same side when rotating tires". I told him manual says different. He looked at me puzzled? Anyone rotate there tires on a new f350? I have the Michelin LTX A/T 2 275/70/18E AT tires. I will torque lugs to 165 ft. lbs like the manual says even though that seems like a lot.

I checked my manual on a 2011 F250 CCLB and was suprised to find the same recommendation. I have always rotated tires front to rear on the same side.

I have mine done at the dealer every 5k miles when I get my free oil change. I confess I don't know which pattern they use, but they charge me $16 to rotate 4 tires, which is a steal imo.

I have been rotating my tires like that for at least 15 yrs,no problems. Back in the day, they always kept radial tires on the same side?

That Was a common half x rotation years ago . Full x was common also . Michelin tires and other quality tires , rotated properly , will last longer that way . Want to mix it up ? add the spare into the rotation sequence , We use to ....

I thought about using the spare but it's mounted to a steel rim and I would have to get it dismounted and balanced so just the 4 for now.

Yes . That was when we still used common rims for all wheels , even the spare . Proper pressure , proper rotation , proper balance and alignment . They all lead to longer tire life .
