Starting Problem - Intermittent
1977 f250 351M.
Very intermittent.
Every 30 or so starts truck misfires**. Upon attempting restart I can't get any spark unless I pump really gas really hard and it feels like im forcing gas into carb or something and it really hesistates and starts slow. Or it floods and I have to attempt again after 10min.
As soon as it fires up it drives fine. Every other start when I don't have this problem (misfire) it fires up instantly.
Gas system has all been replaced up until carb.
Could this be the accelerator pump in the edelbrock carb?
Thanks,
Matty

When you say you cant get any spark does this mean you assume you get no spark or have you actually checked for spark?

I haven't checked yet. But its feeling like fuel issue, or can spark be related to the extreme pedal pumping?

The blue smoke usually indicates that you're burning a bit of oil.
I don't expect that this could be a spark issue, since you mentioned that it runs fine as soon as it fires up.
The misfire you describe, what exactly happens? A backfire? Absolutely nothing?
