352 FE timing
so im putting in a new distributor and i have to do the time ignition timing from scratch. this new distributor is electronic ign. anyways i was wondering how u no where to put distributor from scratch.i dont really mess with distributors. excpet on old motorcycles. but anyways so do i just get the number 1 cylinder to tdc on compression stroke and have the rotor underneath the number one spark plug wire on distributor.

Pretty much thats it. At TDC #1 on cap towards the front of motor when distributor is fully seated. If the motor doesn't fire and you have good spark you might be 180 degrees out on the timing. Swap all the plug wires 180 degrees on the cap. Swap wires with the wire on the opposite side without removing the dist. Then try starting again.
