87 F 150 stereo issue

I have a 1987 F150 with no sound from the drivers speaker. I have replaced the stereo unit. Still has the same problem. I remove the speaker and found that it has power to each speaker wire with a test light. The wiring is all factory. The stereo is also factory
Confused Help!!

Sounds like you have a blown speaker. Put a multimeter across it set to ohms, I bet it measures open circuit. The stock speakers are crap anyway so no big loss, replace them with just about anything aftermarket and you'll get a nice improvement in sound.

Nope tried different speakers. The speaker wires for that speaker will light a test light. That shouldn't be.

Do you mean the test light turns on constantly or does it pulse with the music?

Yeah that is no good, either there is a short somewhere or somebody has spliced something in where it shouldn't be. Is this truck new to you? If you can't find any obvious dIY hack wiring under the dash anywhere then consider running new wires to that speaker directly from the head unit and disconnect the compromised wiring.

Great idea. Anyone have a wiring diagram to identify the speaker wires? Also have 200 watt pioneers going in the door. Considering a small amp and maybe 6x9's in the b pillars. Any recommendations there? Also what's the best way to set up an aux jack in this?
