6.0 Performance Tunes

I have an 05 F250 FX4 with stock head bolts and gaskets, BPD external oil cooler, BPD EGR delete and 4" MBRP exhaust. I was recently given an Edge Juice with Attitude version 1.92. I've never used a tuner/programmer on this truck before. While playing with the different HP setting I realized just how wickedly powerful the truck can be. In fear of damaging my truck I set the tune to the lowest setting and leaving it there until I obtain more info on it. Other than installing head studs....does anyone have any advise or concerns with using this tuner/programmer?

My advise would be use it as a gauge only on stock power.

That's what I'm doing! I know there are several different tuner/programmers on the market. Any suggestions on 1 that is not so extreme but is good for a little extra towing power?

I don't have any experience with Edge tuners, I know many here use them. I have read that they help the trans take a dirt nap. You are also correct, if you are not careful your HG will be blown in no time....

If it were me; I would use either it for the gauges and buy an SCT Tuner with custom tunes, as the SCT tunes/modifies parameters in the trans to accommodate the extra HP, or sell it and buy a SCT tuner. With any tuner though, you have to use some self control and assume the responsibility when bad things happen...

Check out Gearhead Automotive Performance, Matts tunes are highly recommend here.

Absolutely true statement!!!!!!!! Ironically I have a SCT tuner that was given to me. I use to read/clear DTCs. It came without the tunes. Guess I need to make a phone call.

Ha! Yes. The Edge came out of a parts truck and my friend has no use for it being he has a Cummins in his F250. The SCT was given to him from another friend that sold his F250.
