2001 v10 Excursion, purchased two weeks ago. Looking under the hood I notice that the large hose that connects the pass side valve cover to the intake is severely cracked. Want to replace it for obvious reasons. I would post a pic but haven't been registered long enough. Looks like this PCV may be heated as there is several hoses going to it.
I pulled the factory tag off the hose and have P/N YC3E-6C324-CA. Called the Ford dealer and they say the P/N is for a "cluster" of hoses. Does this include the PCV valve itself? Was hoping to replace the cracked hose alone but having no luck finding it.
Yes, that is what the part "looks" like. However, after calling many auto parts stores, and driving to a couple, the Dorman P/N 46025, is not correct. The Dorman item is much smaller than the hose that is cracked. I had that exact part in my hand this morning with the hood popped and its not right...
I wish that would be the right part as it costs $12, the P/N I posted from the tag, from Ford, is $72. Hence why I am wondering what all is included, parts guy couldn't tell me...
Really appreciate the help, this should be easier I would think. If I could post a picture it would certainly help but not for a few more days.
I also can't find a pic online of this hose, even when I use the almighty Google, I come up empty. All the pics I find don't seem to show the same setup that is on my Ex.
Just looked at the Ex again, this is definitely the heated PCV style. It is a little misleading as the line I am referring to is actually covered in a secondary foam type tube, making it look like a larger size than it really is. The outer foam is cracked badly and the inner hose at the intake side looks to be cracking as well.
The Dorman item is the correct shape but the hose isn't long enough on either side of the 90.
BTW my goal here is to cure a stalling issue that has happened only once since I got the truck. Hoping its this easy...
I may just have to bite the bullet and order the part from Ford.
My 99 had the cracked elbow under the throttlebody. It was around 20 something dollars but cleared a lean code for me. Check out auto nation white bear lake or horizonpartsguy.com for a better deal than the local stealership.
The hose on the truck has a foam jacket so it looks larger then the dorman one. I purchased the dorman one for my truck and it worked. Tore up my foam jacket a little getting it on and off but it works
