1969 Bed repair
I'm starting a resto on the body of my 1969 F100. The previous owner filled in the body line on the bed (where the crack is and where seam sealer is suppose to be) with bondo, to give it a cleaner look, I suppose. As a result, rust is starting to bubble up under the bondo, so I want to remove it and repair it correctly. However, I can't get the bondo out! I've used a sand blaster (only on 100 pounds of pressure...small air compressor) with black beauty media and I've tried a DA with 80 grit and neither will touch it. I don't want to ruin the medal, so how should I get rid of all the bondo? Someone recommended a heat gun to me...will that work?
Also, once it's all cleaned out, how do I fix the seam (no holes or anything) to make it like the factory did?
