New to this forum but an old Ford truck guy. After 3 years of searching, I finally found an old crew cab highboy that was within my budget but not all rusted out. I had a friend handle the transaction for me (it was 1400 miles away near my old home town). A few months later the whole family was heading out there during vacation to visit family. I did minimal work on it such as changing fluids and a brake job and then drove it back home in its original crusty condition (without wife and kids). She made it all the way back without problems (apart from some temporary hearing loss). My father-in-law thought I was crazy but was a great help nonetheless. Now the transformation begins.
